So you've created your list in Leganto and are wondering what the next steps are. This tutorial will walk you through how to submit your Leganto list for library review, and how to get your list published to your course and accessible to students. |
How do I submit and publish my list on Leganto? Title Slide |
Before we begin, this tutorial is for Boston based and online faculty and instructors. If you're an instructor or a faculty member based on the Oakland campus, please refer to the link for Leganto for Oakland instructors or contact libreserves-oak@northeastern.edu. | |
When you finished adding items to your Leganto list, it's time to submit it to the library for review and publication. Use the 'My list is ready' button at the top of your page to get started. You will always be able to see this option, but it is strongly recommended to finish building your Leganto list before you publish it. |

After selecting 'My list is ready,' you will be prompted to send your list to the library for review. This sends the list to a staff member at the library, who will ensure that all the items and resources are easily accessible. They will also take care of any specific course reserve requests and instructions, such as having print books ready for students to check out, or ensuring that there are enough digital copies for students to access. |

If you choose not to publish the list to students right away, you will see a banner at the top of your list indicating that it has been submitted to the library, but is still in draft format. You might want to use this option if you'd prefer the library to review and process the materials on your list before making it visible to students. |
Leganto list with alert banned highlighted: The library is reviewing your list. If you make additional changes, click on "my list is ready" to notify the library. Draft status appears after the list title. |
However, you may decide to publish the list to the students right away without requiring library review first. In that case, select 'Also publish the list to students' before you click 'Send.' If you're reading list is embedded in a Canvas course, you should select 'Course students' so that only students entering through the course Canvas system will have access to the materials. If you're reading list is not restricted to students in a specific Canvas course. Select 'All students at the institution' and anyone with a Northeastern login will be able to view your list and access materials within it. When provided a link. Or choose 'Anyone' if your list is intended to be public for users outside of the Northeastern community. |
Send list to library dialog box. Checked check box to publish list to students at the same time. Publish to: course students, all students, or anyone. |
When your list has been successfully published to students, it will say 'Published' at the top of the interface. To unpublish, Open the list menu icon on the top right corner and select 'Unpublish list.' As you make changes, you will continue to see and use the 'My list is ready' option to republish or resubmit your list after making changes. Simply repeat the steps in this tutorial as many times as you'd like to get your Leganto list where you would like it to be. |
