StatsPolicy.gov describes itself as "the home of the U.S. Federal statistical system." Use this site to identify federal statistical agencies and learn about the laws and policies underpinning the nation's statistical network.
Also, to locate additional sci/tech focused government agencies or learn about government organization in general, check the United States Government Manual. For those interested in the history and development of government agencies, the Manual is available from 1935 to present.

- Crime Data ExplorerFrom the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Includes the Law Enforcement Explorer, Special Reports, and Documents and Downloads, for example NIBRS and UCR data.

- Federal Statistical Research Data CentersFrom the agency website - Federal Statistical Research Data Centers (FSRDC) are partnerships between federal statistical agencies and leading research institutions. FSRDCs provide secure environments supporting qualified researchers using restricted-access data while protecting respondent confidentiality. The Boston RDC is located at NBER in Cambridge.
