This guide provides information about resources, services and guidelines to assist students, faculty and staff.

Snell Library Services

  • Unable to come to the library yourself? Register a proxy borrower to check out materials for you.
  • If you cannot retrieve materials yourself, call 617-373-2350 or email borrow@northeastern.libanswers.com for assistance from the Help and Information Desk. Please allow 24 hours notice so we can retrieve materials for you!
  • Speak with Help and Information Desk staff to arrange for extended checkout periods if needed.

Accessibility of online resources

Scholar OneSearch, the library's search and discovery system for books, articles journals and media, meets these standards:

  • WCAG 2.0 Guidelines Priority 2 (Level A and AA)
  • US Section 508
  • Europe EN 301 549

Accessibility testing of vendor research databases is funded by the Big Ten Academic Alliance of libraries.  Get the latest accessibility test reports for major vendor platforms such as Elsevier, ARTStor, Proquest, and more.

HathiTrust is a digital library of books from research libraries. Users with print disabilities who are registered with Northeastern's Disability Resource Center are able to access the full text of Northeastern print holdings that are also in Hathi Trust.
