Articles from journals.  Search the JSTOR database, which is the most comprehensive of our resources for articles covering all aspects of history.

Books at Northeastern University Libraries.  Search in Scholar One Search, limiting your search to "Library Catalog."

Encyclopedia articles.  Search Cambridge Histories Online for scholarly articles.

Historical Newspaper articles.  Choose the region of the world you are searching from the tabs above.

Databases for finding articles

American Periodical Series Online 1740-1940  Over 1,000 magazines, and newspapers published between 1740-1940. 

JSTOR  Full text of 100s of journals in most disciplines, including history.  In some cases, current 3 years of articles not included.

Project Muse  Many full text, academic journals, including in history.  Coverage from 1994 to date.

Web of Science.  This database covers all disciplines, not just science.  Useful for citation tracking or citation analysis.

Cambridge Histories Online is a major online reference and research collection, covering all geographic areas and all time periods. The articles are scholarly, with excellent bibliographic listings at the end of the individual articles.
