Instruction
Teaching and instruction is the foundation of what we do at Northeastern University Libraries. We offer course support on research skills and strategies, specific databases and research tools, citation management, and peer review and other library- or research-focused topics.
We've found that library instruction sessions are most effective when they meet these criteria:
- the session is related to a specific assignment or research need
- students have research topics in mind and are familiar with assignment requirements
- the session is timed for when students will realistically begin their research
- the session is mandatory for students and occurs during regular class time
- the instructor has specific goals or learning outcomes in mind for the session
Research Consultations and Citation Management
We are available to work directly with faculty and researchers in person, over email, or virtually. If you'd like help with your research project, you can schedule an appointment with Lauri, Robert by using the link in the profile boxes in the left hand column. Other librarians may be able to assist as well. See the links below for Boston or Oakland. Online appointments are available for all.
We also provide consultation on citation styles and citation management for research projects at any level and can help students and faculty identify strategies and tools to organize references and successfully produce bibliographies.
