Finding books in science
At Northeastern's Snell Library
Search Scholar OneSearch for books owned by the Library. You may search by author, title or keyword. For example, a keyword search of "fractals and physics" (limiting to "Library catalogs" only) retrieves 75 books (8-16-18). Your search will retrieve both print and e-books owned by the library.
The library owns a number of reference ebooks (e.g., Dictionary of Energy, Encyclopedia of Cancer) that can be found in Scholar OneSearch.
If the book you want is either unavailable or not owned by Northeastern, you may request that the library borrow a copy for you to use through the library's Interlibrary Loan system.
To find books held by other libraries, search WorldCat, a database that searches most major, academic libraries. You can search by author, title or subject and see which books are in local libraries.
To request that the library purchase a book, you may fill out a purchase request form.
