Founded in 1986, Foresight Institute is a leading nanotechnology think tank & public interest organization. Foresight was the first organization to educate society about the benefits and risks of nanotechnology.
Established in 2001 to coordinate U.S. nanotechnology research & development among 25 participating Federal agencies. NNI's goals are to advance a world class R & D program, foster the transfer of new technologies into products for commercial & public benefit, develop & sustain educational resources, a skilled workforce, supporting infrastructure & tools to advance nanotechnology, support responsible development of nanotechnology.
The NNI Strategic Plan is the framework that underpins the nanotechnology work of 25 NNI member agencies. It aims to ensure that advances in nanotechnology R&D and their applications to agency missions and the broader national interest continue unabated in this still-young area of research and development.
