Research Guides are essentially websites. However, many things that inform accessibility have already been decided for you as a creator. The h1 is already declared, font size and color are pre-set. When working in LibGuides, what is already there is accessible. Your job as a creator is to avoid adding content that introduces accessibility barriers.
Many of the topics on this page only apply to your project if you include them. If you don't have tables, you don't need to worry about the table related topics.
LibGuides provides training on creating accessible guides. You can watch a recording at the link below. Much of the content they share is also included here. Some highlights include:
- Page names should be meaningful unique within a guide.
- Guide names should be unique and not similar to other guides.
- Gallery boxes shouldn't auto-play.
