Companies
Finding information on private companies can be difficult, as they are not required to file with the SEC. Limited information on private companies may be found using some of the databases listed below.

- PrivCo This link opens in a new windowBusiness and financial information on US-based, private non-publicly traded corporations, including family-owned, private equity-owned and venture-backed companies. Access requires registration with a Northeastern email address.

- Value Line Investment Survey (Standard and Poor's) This link opens in a new windowData and performance analysis of approximately 8,000 stocks, 15,000 mutual funds, and 80,000 options and other securities. Company reports, analysis, industry benchmarking and comparisons. Data charts and exporting available.

Financial statements are presented in "as-reported" form. Access is limited to 5 users at a time.

Financial information on 53,000 companies worldwide (42,000 are non-US companies).
- U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission FilingsEnjoy free public access to millions of informational documents filed by publicly traded companies and others in the SEC's Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval (EDGAR) system.
Non-Profit Companies

Guidestar shows finances from IRS Form 990 tax filings, as well as missions, programs, activities, board members and executives. Useful for academic, employment/co-op, and advocacy research, as well as for identifying funding sources.
