If you're not sure which citation format to use, please check with your instructor.

The usual styles in the Health Sciences are APA and AMA. Below are webpages containing more information for each style.

APA: Purdue OWL, APASyle.apa.org (from the American Psychological Association, contains all aspects of APA Style)

AMA: AMA Manual of Style (American Medical Association online databases covering style book)

 

Writing Assistance

For help with writing projects, consider a visit to Northeastern's Writing Center.  Same-day walk in service is available in 136 Snell Library; assistance by appointment is offered in the 412 Holmes center. Online consulting is also available (all appointments in EST).

What is a citation manager?

A citation manager is a piece of software that helps you collect and organize your research and create bibliographies and in-text citations. Citation managers generally offer a range of citation styles and features to choose from.

Which citation managers does the library support?

The Northeastern library supports EndNote, Mendeley, RefWorks and Zotero. We also support the use of BibTeX and LaTeX.

Which citation manager should I use?

While citation managers generally have the same basic functions, each one offers some specific features.
