Welcome to the Advanced Library Research Guide
This guide supports the basic information gathering needs of students who already have a fundamental knowledge of basic library resources and services such as finding books and requesting materials through interlibrary loan.
This guide focuses on identifying scholarly articles by discipline and analyzing their impact on the discipline through citation analysis. The guide also places emphases on utilizing data resources, government documents, foreign sources, multimedia resources, such as videos and images, information from reputable websites, and primary resource materials, all to enlarge the research process. Some sources of information may fit in two or more of the above categories, for example data published by the US government.
Finally, the guide focuses on the role of copyright and intellectual property laws in determining the proper use of and attribution to these resources as a part of classroom assignments or individual research.
You may use this research guide for referral for its information. In addition, witin each section (represented by a tab) is an exercise to help walk you through each section or component of information.
