Bureau of Economic Analysis

BEA, an agency of the Department of Commerce, produces economic statistics meant to provide a comprehensive, up-to-date picture of the U.S. economy.   BEA collects source data, conducts research and analysis, develops and implements estimation methodologies, and disseminates statistics to the public.

Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System Statistics & Historical Data 

Current and historical data, including bank assets and liabilities, exchange rates, consumer credit, industrial production and capacity, interest rates, and money supply. Includes a link to the Federal Reserve Bulletin.

Data Sources for Discontinued Statistical Supplement to the Federal Reserve Bulletin

Offers statistical data formerly published in tabular format in the Financial and Business Statistics section of the Federal Reserve Bulletin (before 2004) and in the Statistical Supplement to the Federal Reserve Bulletin (before 2009).

Economic Indicators from the U S Department of Commerce


A comprehensive collection of economic data particularly geared toward economic forecasting. Provides a large number of data sets presented over time. Most data is supplied as Excel documents.

Economic Indicators 

This resource provides online access to information about gross domestic product, income, employment, production, business activity, prices, money, credit, security markets, federal finance, and international statistics from the  US Government Publishing Office. Coverage begins in 1995 and continues through the present and is updated monthly. Years 1948 to 1995 are collected in FRASER, see below.


The Federal Reserve Archival System for Economic Research (FRASER) from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis seeks to preserve and provide access to the nation's economic history through digitization of original documents. Included are many historical statistical publications, including Economic Report of the President, Economic Indicators, Survey of Current Business, Annual Report of the Comptroller of the Currency, Banking and Monetary Statistics 1914-1941, and more.

FRED: Federal Reserve Economic Data
